One of the pluses about @is_anyone_up being shut down, is not accidentally seeing my friends penises anymore! :)
I wonder how many people started believing in god today because @Huntermoore is out of business...
I always figured ignoring a DCMA takedown request would be the incident forcing isanyoneup to close, not @huntermoore growing a conscience.
Controversial revenge-porn website goes down for good
4/20/2012The controversial website showing off anonymously submitted naked photos of people is done. Just a couple of weeks ago, Hunter Moore, the 26-year-old creator of Is Anyone Up, was the subject of a Village Voice cover story that called him a "revenge-porn profiteer." On Thursday, his infamous site was shut down, and the URL redirects to a letter from Moore on BullyVille.com that aims to explain why. Among the reasons: "I honestly can't take another [naked] underage kid getting submitted and having to go through the process of reporting it and dealing with all the legal drama of that situation." Time will tell, but for now, Twitter reaction to the shutdown was surprisingly mixed -- by which we mean more pro-Moore than we might have thought.
