'Cooking With Poo' loses Pulitzer but gets 'Oddest Title'

Add this title to the "Awful Library Books" archives. "Cooking with Poo," a Thai cookbook by Saiyuud Diwong, has nabbed The Bookseller's Diagram Prize for Oddest Book Title of the Year. The winning entry isn't capitalizing on fetish cuisine, like the sperm cookbook; "Poo" simply means "crab" in Thai. Anji Barker, a social worker for a Bangkok charity with which Diwong is involved, says, "We knew the whole world loved Poo but now it is official!"

Other titles that ranked highly in the quirky annual contest include "The Great Singapore Penis Panic and the Future of American Mass Hysteria" (a five-star Amazon product), "Estonian Sock Patterns All Around the World" and the page-turner "A Taxonomy of Office Chairs."
