Cops looking for robber cuff every adult in sight
6/5/2012So what did you do last night? If you happened to stop at a particular Aurora, Colo., red light, you could've spent two hours handcuffed beside your car. Acting on a "reliable tip" that the person who robbed a nearby Wells Fargo bank was somewhere in that line of cars, cops took the unorthodox approach of removing passengers from their vehicles so they could be searched, as well as locking every adult into a set of shiny police-issue bracelets. "We didn't know race or gender or anything, so a split-second decision was made to stop all the cars," one officer said. They did find the armed robber, though -- in the very last car they checked.
Would you have let the police cuff you?
