Cops: Pair of alligators guarded man's 9-lb. pot stash
5/24/2012Police searching for drugs at Lavon McCants' Cincinnati home said it wasn't an easy task. They had to go into the house, down the hall, past the alligators ... wait, what? Officers discovered a whopping 9 pounds of pot and a pair of 4-foot-long gators who were reportedly guarding the stash. The weed could score McCants a pair of drug-related felonies and an additional charge for possession of exotic animals. "It's a new one on me," city prosecutor Charlie Rubenstein said. The alligators have already been sent to an animal rescue facility; McCants' attorney says the gators aren't his. No word on whether he claimed the pot.
Think the alligators were an effective deterrent?
