Cops run over woman they were rushing to help

After a concerned citizen called the Des Moines, Iowa, police to report a person lying in the street, they investigated, unfortunately running over the prone person in question while doing so. Officer Brian Cupp responded to the call in the early hours and accidentally ran over the legs of the woman, who the police have described as intoxicated. Des Moines police said the woman did not sustain life-threatening injuries in her brush with the law and was receiving treatment for bruises. Lt. David Ness described the incident as an "unfortunate accident" and added, "Hopefully we'll all learn from it." Making it home before you pass out and someone "helps" you is probably a key lesson here.
