Could ‘Vin Dieseling’ be the new planking?

7/4/2012

THE NOW -- There's a new Internet fad in town and it's definitely the craziest of them all. Nathan Barnatt puts a disclaimer at the beginning of his latest YouTube video "Driving Like Vince Diesel", which features an interesting twist on traveling by car. And this isn't his first time around the web trending block either: his video from a few months back called "Going Ostrich" has almost a million views.
This whole posing trend seems to have started back in early 2011 with 'planking' and videos like the funny viral hit by The Walsh Brothers called "Planking Los Angeles". After that, people tried a weirder pose called 'owling', which became uncool faster than Ugg Boots when it hit the local news. And let us not forget the really ridiculous online trend of 'cone-ing' and how word spread on it so quickly, fast food workers started to catch on and became furious about it. Looks like we'll all have to wait and see if the roads start filling up with people hanging out their cars 'Vince Dieseling' ... er, 'Vin Dieseling'.
