Couple arrested for using legal gun to shoot burglars

Although shooting home invaders will often get you hailed as a hero in the United States, it’s a different story elsewhere. A couple in Britain is facing charges after the husband shot and wounded alleged burglars. Police in Leicestershire said the Melton Mowbray man fired his legally registered shotgun after men entered his home, hitting two of the four before they fled on foot. He called police, telling them what had happened, and shortly after, one of the suspects called an ambulance from down the road. The man and his wife were detained for "causing grievous bodily harm," along with the four men who were arrested for aggravated burglary. [Source]
