What's in your wallet? It could be a refund from your credit card
12/18/2012If you have a Discover, American Express or Capital One credit card in your pocket enabling you to rack up dizzying amounts of debt, you may have a refund coming your way. As part of a government investigation into deceptive credit card practices, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has ordered the three companies to pay back $435 million to almost six million customers. The refund should post to cardholders' accounts by the end of March, if not already. The Bureau found that the lenders advertised false bonus incentives programs or pressured customers into buying additional services from third-party companies when they first signed up for credit cards.
