Cubs fans walking a goat cross country to break 'curse'
4/26/2012Here are some Cubs fans putting a new twist on the term "long suffering." Their team hasn't won a World Series since 1908 - thanks, some think, to a long-ago curse invoked by legendary Billy Goat Tavern owner Billy Sianis - so they're trekking 1,600 miles from the team's spring training home in Arizona to Chicago accompanied by a 4-month-old Nigerian dwarf goat to change the karma. "Wrigley," as the beast is called, was snatched up for 60 bucks off Craigslist - where else? - and is pulled along in a cart most of the day, lest the well-intentioned fans incite a curse from the animal cruelty brigade.
Will this stunt lift the Cubs' curse at last?
