1/23/2013Do you start grinding your teeth and making motions with your greedy, grabby hands when you gaze at some cute kittens? Apparently your seemingly aggressive reaction to aggressively adorable entities is normal. A study by two Yale psychology grad students armed folks with bubble wrap as they viewed cute animals, funny critters and "neutral" animals. The subjects popped the most bubbles when they regarded the cute animals, but the researchers couldn't pinpoint exactly why this "outward display of aggression" occurs when cuteness overwhelms us.
