Don't pass the salt: Reducing intake will help prevent cancer
7/23/2012It might be time to reconsider your breakfast menu for the sake of your stomach. The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) recommends that people reduce their salt intake by cutting back on sodium-rich foods such as bacon, bread and breakfast cereal. Tony the Tiger says “Grrrrrroan!” The charity claims that reducing salt intake to six grams a day -- that’s just a teaspoon -- could help prevent the risk of developing stomach cancer, as well as high blood pressure, heart disease, osteoporosis and kidney disease. Snap, Crackle and Pop must be riddled with ailments by now, the poor little things. [Source]
