Cyclists want drivers to know they're on candid camera
7/21/2012As more city dwellers turn to bicycles as a primary means of transportation, the number of accidents — and confrontations — between drivers and cyclists is also increasing. Cyclists, increasingly wary of run-ins with drivers, have sought technological peace of mind in the form of helmet cameras. More riders are turning to the “black boxes” for bikes, which were initially intended to shoot video of adventures in skiing or surfing. The cameras, which are strapped to the front of helmets, not only provide evidence in accident investigations, but can help deter harassment by drivers and also encourage cyclists to be on their best behavior.
