Water costs more than beer in heaviest-drinking country in the world

The Czech people call it liquid bread and drink an average of 37 gallons per person, per year. Beer is something the average American consumes only half as much of as the average Czech. Don’t feel bad frat boys; Czechs drink more beer per capita than any country in the world. The nation’s patron saint is also the patron saint of brewing and malting, so how is Sigma Nu going to compete with that? The Czech health minister has recently made it a goal that pubs offer at least one nonalcoholic beverage that costs less than beer, but the only real option is tap water.
