Dad saves son from cliff's edge, jerk cop not impressed
5/22/2012Frank Roder's son was so excited to feed the ducks at New Jersey's Rahway River that he jumped out of the car before Roder had parked. The panicked dad jumped out of his Jeep and grabbed 5-year-old Aidan just inches from the embankment's edge -- a 35-foot drop into the river. He couldn't save his car, though which fell into the water. His relief at rescuing his son was short-lived: A responding officer gave him $110 in tickets for failing to set the emergency brake and not having his insurance docs (which had probably floated off). "I couldn't believe it," Roder said. "He said, 'If you would've taken the five seconds to apply the brake, this never would've happened.'"
Would you have given Roder a ticket?
