Cop investigated for not investigating racist taunts made at him
2/26/2013A Canadian cop is being investigated for not investigating a possible crime — which was committed against him. Const. Dameian Muirhead is an officer for the York Regional Police. He is also black. And now he is in trouble for a 2011 incident in which he failed to investigate racial taunts — including someone allegedly alluding to lynching Muirhead — made when he arrived at a party at a farm that had gotten out of hand. Muirhead and two fellow officers were confronted by 15 people who had reportedly been drinking, and an altercation ensued. A partygoer filed a complaint against Muirhead's conduct that night, and he faces disciplinary charges, including neglect of duty for not investigating the racial taunts made against him. [Source]
