Loud radio makes sports fan go berserk, ends in police standoff
2/5/2013Do not get between a man and the team that he loves. Dan Drobac really loves his Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Eagan, Minn., man had taped a recent Gophers basketball game, but before he had a chance to watch it, fate intervened. A utility worker outside his home blared a sports-talk radio station so loudly Drobac heard the score. Infuriated, Drobac went aggro, storming out of his house to scream that he would shoot the contractor and threw a large kitchen knife at her. This led to a 90-minute standoff with police in which a SWAT team — a SWAT team! — and negotiators were called. He was later arrested without incident. [Source]
