Daniel Craig lives another day without British film award nomination

1/9/2013

The world loves James Bond, but the Brits — well, maybe not so much. Current Bond actor Daniel Craig was a notable absentee from the list of British Academy Film Awards nominations, announced Wednesday, as was Sam Mendes, the acclaimed director of "Skyfall." However, the successful franchise did pick up eight BAFTA nominations, including Javier Bardem in the supporting actor category and Judi Dench as supporting actress. The Civil War drama "Lincoln," directed by Steven Spielberg, topped the nominees list with 10 nominations, just ahead of "Les Miserables" and "Life of Pi." Sadly, Queen Elizabeth II was also snubbed, despite her stellar acting debut during the opening ceremony of last summer's Olympic Games. Tough crowd, these Brits. [Source]
