NFL player fined $200K by his own team for being unsportsmanlike
12/9/2012Not all football players are testosterone-filled oafs who get in fights and act like spoiled babies. Just guys like Darnell Dockett, who are apparently so unconcerned with their sport's rep they get in fights on the field — WITH THEIR OWN TEAMMATES. The Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman has reportedly been fined $200,000 (reports vary on the exact amount) after a fight with fellow player Kerry Rhodes during their game on Dec. 2. On top of allegedly spitting on Rhodes (an accusation both men later denied), Dockett refused to play the move his coach ordered. The fine was presumably for the refusal rather than the fight, but any day when you lose to the New York Jets has to be one with problems. [Source]
