Dating service buses city gals to lonely country bachelors
4/23/2012Hoping to spark a little romance into the lives of some lonely Spanish bachelors, a dating service is busing city women from Madrid to rural villages in central Spain. Call it redistribution of love. In Candeleda, a fiesta was held over the weekend to welcome 68 women to the village of 6,000. The matchmaking service, Asocamu, has been around for 17 years to help single woman-hungry farmers cope with at times unbearable isolation -- and to fight the population drain from the villages. But it has received added attention as Spain's financial woes have made country life even less desirable, and many villages are slowly being abandoned. Luck be a lady tonight.
Would you ever participate in this kind of matchmaking?
