Pizza thief made up sob story, now must tell another to the judge
2/2/2013You just can't trust anyone these days. Not even wannabe robbers. David Lacey's weeping admission that he was only holding up a Papa John's store in Montana to feed his family earned him a large pepperoni, an order of wings and a 20-ounce Pepsi from a soft-hearted clerk, but it was all an act. Helena police arrested Lacey after learning he has no children in town and went into sob-story mode only after seeing there was less than $24.56 in the till. He's sticking to the story that he attempted the robbery because he needed to buy food, but that's been taken care of: He'll have meals in jail until he can post a $25,000 bond. [Source]
