Internet grieves death of handicapped man who never existed

Well, this is depressing. Since last Thursday, Tweeps had been sharing the final inspiring words of David Rose or "Dave on Wheels" as he was known on Twitter – a deaf quadriplegic man with cerebral palsy who had been an inspiration for the thousands of people who followed him online. The sad part is that it was all an elaborate hoax. After some of his online friends tried and failed to meet David's heavily Tweeting sister "Nichole" in person, the story of David Rose started to unravel. As theCHIVE discovered, there was no such man — just a hoaxer who admitted Dave was nothing more than "a character" that had been created with a few different online accounts and repurposed photos of another man.
