Paralympian pulls off best table tennis shot you'll ever see

9/3/2012

If you think table tennis highlights are either imaginary or limited to "Forrest Gump" replays, you haven't seen David Wetherill. The 22-year-old Wetherill was competing for Great Britain in the Paralympics when he pulled off this absolutely unbelievable (or right brilliant, if you're English) save against Germany's Thomasz Kusiak. Unfortunately for Wetherill, who is ranked No. 5 in the world, that single shot wasn't enough to rattle Kusiak; the German won 3-1. "At least I might get a few YouTube hits," a disappointed Wetherill later tweeted. "Superman diving forehand winner? I practice that I'll have you know. #ProudParalympian" [Source]

UPDATE: An earlier version of this story reported that Wetherill lost to Italy's Raimondo Alecci, not Kusiak.
