Man flying a plane over his house sees his trailer get stolen
1/1/2013Florida reigned as America's unquestioned leader of crazy news stories in 2012, and naturally, it couldn’t bid adieu to the year without leaving one more nugget of weird news gold. Deputies in Lee County arrested Gary Haines on Interstate 75 after being alerted about a theft of a trailer from a home near the town of LaBelle. Who tipped authorities to the theft? Why, the trailer's owner, David Zehntner, who spotted Haines making off with it from the plane he was piloting. Zehntner was flying to another home he owns in North Carolina when he decided to pass over his Florida property and apparently saw Haines hitch the trailer to his truck and drive off. [Source]
