Deadmau5 pays tribute to Ray Bradbury with 'The Veldt'
4/21/2012Deadmau5 is making waves on the internet with the release of his new track, "The Veldt." The grassy plains of Southern Africa are known as the veldt, and the rushing momentum of the track and references to "beating sun" and "outside the lions run" give the song lyrical warmth, but the title more likely refers to the 1950 Ray Bradbury book, "The Veldt" which was published originally as "The World the Children Made." This song seems perfect for a long drive in the summer sun, although it's far more likely to be played in a dark warehouse to tons of joyful dancers, according to our hip friends.
