Family stunned when death of son with Down syndrome is ruled homicide
2/20/2013A family already grieving the loss of their son, a 26-year-old with Down syndrome, is in even more turmoil since the man’s death was ruled a homicide by a Maryland court. Robert Ethan Saylor was allegedly pinned face-down on the ground by security guards at a movie theater on Jan. 12, after the movie had ended, but Saylor refused to leave the theater. He was then brought to a local hospital, where he died. If it all sounds a little confusing, well, that’s because it is. But what is known is that last Friday, the state medical examiner's office said Saylor died of asphyxiation and ruled the death a homicide. The young man’s mother, Patti Saylor, told ABC7, "He has never had anyone put their hands on him in their life." [Source]
