Cafe makes ordering coffee simple with dumbed-down menu

11/1/2012

Are you tired of coffee shops overcomplicating basic drinks in an effort to sound more cosmopolitan? Then Debenhams in England is the cafe for you. The store is experimenting with a simplified coffee menu after they found more than 70 percent of coffee drinkers have experienced "coffee confusion." To combat this decidedly first-world problem, the shop now lists a regular cup of joe as "simple coffee" and a latte as "really really milky coffee." For those looking to get an espresso, be prepared to order a "shot of strong coffee," and cappuccino seekers need only ask for a "frothy coffee." Patrons also don't need to worry about ordering a size, as "cup" and "mug" are the only current options. [Source]
