Owner says Obama campaign ad featured her deli without permission
8/9/2012Do you see the storefront of Krause's deli at about the 0:10 mark in this Barack Obama ad? That's the problem. The Cincinnati store's owner, Debra Krause-McDonnell, says the campaign didn't have permission to use her front window, and she's losing customers over it. Her store was filmed — with a manager's consent — to be used in a reel of stock footage about metal riot doors, but the Obama campaign, which bought that scene from the video company, said company officials told them Krause-McDonnell’s manager had been informed that the footage could be purchased for any use. Although the ad's run ended on Monday, Krause-McDonnell is still "a little angry," preferring to keep her prosciutto non-partisan. [Source]
