Demand for American-made sperm is on the rise
5/30/2012Good news, fellow Americans: Worldwide demand for sperm made in the U.S.A. is growing, up by as much as 40 percent over the last five years. Finally, a way to cut into that pesky trade deficit. Just last year, California Cryobank, the biggest sperm bank on Earth, exported $23 million worth of American men's genetic goodies, most of it going to Britain, Canada, France, Israel and Australia. So what's behind the love affair with American sperm? Single women and lesbian couples across the globe wanting children, theorizes a Cryobank rep. Also, the U.S. has a more advanced system of sperm banks and liberal laws that boost the donor pool.
