Dems omit the word 'God' from party platform

Are Democrats afraid of the word "God"? That's what their opponents were saying on Tuesday after reading through the party's 2012 platform, where the Almighty is mentioned a whopping zero times. After news broke of the word's omission, the Internet went wild, with many pointing out that Republicans refer to God 10 times in their platform, and that the Democrats had used the G-word at least twice in their 2008 document. A Democratic official noted the 2008 phrases like "God-given potential" were about middle class struggles and not meant to be religious. OK, you decide.[Source]
