Desire for old-school tools leads to fountain pen craze

With the domination of email, texting and cellphones, you might have thought the writing was on the wall for the low-tech yet elegant fountain pen. Never fear, because apparently there's been a dramatic worldwide resurgence in fountain pen sales over the last five years. On Amazon alone, fountain pen sales this year are double what they were last year, and four times higher than they were in 2010. That's a sharp rise in smudgy ink! "The relationship we have with a fountain pen is changing from it being a working tool towards more of an accessory," observed Gordon Scott, VP of the Parker pen company. Just make sure to order one that matches your ascot.
