Detroit police wish concerned citizens would stop bringing in grenades

A guy walks into a police station and pulls out a grenade — seriously. Staff at the Detroit Eastern Station were evacuated Friday as bomb squad members rushed in to take care of the weapon, which the concerned citizen had found in the city and decided to turn in to the police station. Ever capable of finding a silver lining in an ever-darkening cloud, a police spokesperson said this sort of incident wasn't exactly unheard of. "This is the second time it’s happened here in the last two years, so … fortunately, we were prepared," he said, adding that concerned, grenade-discovering citizens should just call police if they find one in the future.
