And the award for the year's weirdest book title goes to ...

Now here's a literary award we can get behind: the Diagram Prize, honoring the year's oddest book title. This year's winner, announced Friday: "Goblinproofing One's Chicken Coop" by Reginald Bakeley, which, in a public vote, beat out finalists including "How Tea Cosies Changed the World," ''Was Hitler Ill?" and "God's Doodle: The Life and Times of the Penis." Stiff competition, indeed. The editor of "Goblinproofing," which follows such past winners as "Bombproof Your Horse," ''Living With Crazy Buttocks" and "Managing a Dental Practice: The Genghis Khan Way," says he and Bakeley regard their win "as a clear sign that people have had enough of goblins in their chicken coops." [Source]
