Canada might have been hiding WWII U-Boat this whole time

7/27/2012

Sneaky Canada may have been harboring an enemy Nazi U-Boat since the early 1940s, if we’re to believe them now. When reviewing sonar readings from a 2010 search for three men lost over Churchill River's Muskrat Falls, diver Brian Corbin came across a grainy image depicting what he's “100 percent” sure is a German submarine. German naval vessels really did operate off the Newfoundland coast during the war. “It is not absolutely impossible although it would be a sensation if it really turns out to be a German U-boat so far inland,” said Georg Jurgens, deputy head of mission for the German embassy in Ottawa. If it is established that the wreck is a U-Boat, Germany’s preference is to leave it where it lies out of respect for the dead. [Source]
