Doc to pay child support for baby born after failed abortion

Not only deadbeat dads are forced to fork over child support. In a landmark case, an unnamed Spanish doctor has been ordered to pay the monthly upkeep for a baby he failed to terminate in a botched abortion. The 24-year-old mother believed she'd had a successful abortion in the Palma de Mallorca clinic, and the doctor even confirmed the termination with an additional scan. But months later, a new scan revealed she was, in fact, six months pregnant with the original baby -- well beyond the 22-week limit for legal abortions in Spain. A judge has ordered the bumbling doc to pay $1,250 per month until the boy is 25 years old, plus $188,000 in damages.
