Dog found abandoned in garbage awarded title of Dog of the Year
11/9/2012For Fiona the poodle, things have improved significantly since she was found blind and living in a heap of garbage in Los Angeles two years ago. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is now honoring the resilient pup with the honor of Dog of the Year. After being adopted by a loving home and undergoing a donation-sponsored surgery to restore vision in one of her eyes, Fiona is now enjoying life along with her three other poodle sisters at home with her adoptive parents, Michele and Chris Gentry. Just goes to show how much an act of kindness can turn around an entire life. [Source]
