Dog poisoned and buried alive has 'miraculous' recovery

10/22/2012

Thank goodness for passersby who pay attention. A French man who noticed the ground moving grabbed a shovel and started digging, discovering a dog that had been poisoned and buried alive. Ethan, a three-year-old Jack Russell terrier was "completely cold" and "barely breathing" when he was rushed to a veterinarian's office, but the determined doctors brought the dog back to life.  "It's extraordinary," veterinarian Philippe Michon said. "We only see this in TV movies. It's rather miraculous." The dog, which was discovered in a small town 125 miles north of Paris, had been microchipped and was traced back to his original owner; that man said he'd given the dog away, but police will continue to investigate. [Source]
