Dog TV comforts lonely canines while their humans are away

3/10/2013

Dog TV sounds like the punch line to some kind of joke, but it's not: It was designed to give stay-at-home dogs something to ease their lonely days. And though it's produced in Israel, it launched in the U.S. last year and is now finally coming to the canines of its country of origin. Not all owners get to work in a canine-friendly office, and since dogs are pack animals, they suffer from separation anxiety more than other household pets. The channel's producers worked hard to create content with soothing blue and yellow tones, based on "a cycle of images that provide pets with stimulation, relaxation and gradual exposure to everyday sounds." Cat TV, meanwhile, continues to just be one maddening laser pointer dancing randomly on a white surface. [Source]
