Dog eats 111 pennies, has life-saving surgery that costs a lot more
3/13/2013A money-hungry Jack Russell terrier is recovering after having emergency surgery to remove 111 pennies from his stomach. The 13-year-old dog, cleverly named Jack, jumped onto owner Tim Kelleher's desk to steal his bagel but ended up inhaling a bowl full of loose change as well. When Jack began to throw up the coins, Kelleher rushed the dog to the vet (probably a better option than taking him to a Coinstar machine) where he had a two-hour operation. Every last cent was removed from his system — five pennies at a time — and Jack is home and recovering. “He’s doing great,” Kelleher said Tuesday. “He’s driving me crazy again." [Source]
