Dogs understand humans better than we thought — and they're cunning
2/12/2013If you ever thought your dog gets you, like he really, really gets you, you might be right. A new study published in the journal Animal Cognition found that dogs are capable of understanding the points of view of their owners more than previously thought. And they're devious. Dogs understand human perspective so well that they can alter their behavior to appease their owners. Researchers used an experiment in which lights were turned off in a room with dogs and their owners. They found the dogs were four times more likely to steal forbidden food because they understood their owners could not see them. So it might be time to lock up the dog biscuits. [Source]
