Dolled-up girls arrive at prom in life-size Barbie boxes
7/5/2012Certainly there are many stylish ways to arrive at the prom. Limo, as we all know, is one popular option, and helicopter is now making headlines as a splashy alternative. But two U.K. 16-year-olds came up with an eye-catching choice that might just put all others to shame. Looking princess-perfect in shimmering ball gowns and glittery tiaras, Emily Pounde and Hannah Jagger arrived at their prom encased in two life-sized Barbie boxes, made by Pounde's mom out of plywood and Perspex and emblazoned with the Mattel logo. (We hope they also had air holes.) The girls, in their boxes, were transported via a flatbed trailer made a bit more glamorous thanks to an Oriental rug. Hello, dollies.
Is this Barbie-box prom arrival impressive or icky?
