Braying donkey used as getaway car by dumbass thieves
1/21/2013Donkeys don’t make good getaway cars. Just ask the three Colombians whose Laurel and Hardy-style burglary plan included speeding off on an elderly ass (not the animal shown above). The trio had slipped through the roof of a shop in the Caribbean town of Juan de Acosta, pilfered a buffet's worth of rum, sardines, rice and other victuals and carefully loaded it onto 10-year-old Xavi the donkey. Perhaps annoyed at being awake at 2 a.m. (or maybe because he missed his owner, from whom he'd been stolen the day before), Xavi began braying. The thieves took off when the cops showed up, abandoning the loot-laden creature. All the swag was returned — including the noisy donkey. [Source]
