Doomsday set prepares for end in luxurious missile silo

4/9/2012

Four doomsday believers have paid $7 million for luxury condos that are being built into the shaft of an abandoned Cold War missile silo in Salina, Kan. The silo features 14 underground floors and 9-foot-thick concrete walls. Developer Larry Hall, who is worried about the possibility of sun flares wiping out the power grid and has bought one of the units for himself, also plans an indoor vegetable farm, a pool and a movie theater. He's also stockpiling enough dry goods to feed up to 70 people for up to five years.
