Only those with iron stomachs should try this Doritos consommé recipe

Even if the Mayan apocalypse doesn't happen on December 21, the end of the world can't be far away now that Doritos consommé is a thing. Cook and author Lauren Shockey reveals that the consommé — which, for the less cultured, is a clear, rich soup usually made with beef or chicken — is made by boiling Doritos (seriously), then gradually straining off the solids. Apparently it adds a "southwestern kick" to dishes, so presumably it tastes better than it sounds.
