NY lawmaker apologizes (sort of) for blackface makeup

One more time: Dressing in blackface is NOT OK. The latest offender is Dov Hikind, a New York state assemblyman who attended a Purim party wearing an Afro wig, sunglasses and a face covered in brown makeup. (He hired a makeup artist to help with his costume, making him the most professionally designed racist we've seen.) Hikind claimed that he was "a black basketball player" and initially criticized his critics as being too politically correct. He's since apologized, sort of. "Anyone who was offended, I am sorry that they were offended," he said. Ironically, earlier this month, Hikind slammed designer John Galliano for dressing as a Hasidic Jew.
