Dream-chasers pony up $500K to control their dreams
5/21/2012Tired of leaving the realization of your dreams to your under-motivated subconscious? Then you'll be pleased to know that the Kickstarter-funded Bitbanger Labs has created the Remee, an eye mask that supposedly allows its wearer to enjoy lucid dreams over which they have conscious control. The two guys behind the idea, 30-year-olds Duncan Frazier and Steve McGuigan, were hoping to raise $35,000 but the idea seems to have captured the public's imagination, with more than 6,000 people committing a dream-making $572,891 to fund the endeavor. The inside of the mask features six LED lights which are activated when its wearer enters the REM phase of slumber. The lights remind the viewer that they are in a dreamy state and the conscious mind can take over and steer the dream in any direction it wants.
