Driver's power-sneeze cuts electricity to Minn. residents
3/19/2012We thought Lauren Johnson's "intractable psychogenic sneezing," which caused her to continuously sneeze 10 times a minute, was the worst nasal malfunction on record. Then we heard about poor Travers DeWitte, who actually set off a major power outage in Winona, Minn., after a sneezing-while-driving incident. DeWitte's power-sneeze caused him to step on the gas, speed into an intersection and hit a cable, snapping a line that delivered power to about 1,300 Xcel Energy customers, according to the Winona Daily News. Technically, the accident was a "sneeze-and-run," as DeWitte drove off after the crash (he was afraid his car would be towed) -- but he returned to the scene minutes later to report his gesundheit gaffe.
Where's the worst place you've ever sneezed?
