Drunk grandparents accused of towing girl's Hot Wheels car

4/30/2012

Some grandparents shouldn't still be driving or, in this case, even own a car. This Sarasota, Fla., couple is accused of getting lit, hitching their 7-year-old granddaughter's toy Hot Wheels car to their SUV with a couple of dog leashes, and drunkenly towing her around the neighborhood. The swimsuit-clad girl, according to sheriff's deputies, wasn't wearing a helmet. Fortunately, the SUV was estimated at only going between 5 and 10 mph. Grandpa Paul Berloni, 49, was charged with drunken driving, child endangerment and driving with a suspended license (naturally); Belinda Jean Berloni, 47, was hit with a child endangerment charge. The girl is fine, but we doubt she'll be sending a card on National Grandparents Day in September.

Should these grandparents be allowed to watch their granddaughter ever again?
