Drunk man judo-punched after allegedly tossing bottle onto racetrack

8/6/2012

At a moment when most of the world was holding its breath, a drunken spectator was hurling a beer bottle onto the track just behind the starting blocks where Usain Bolt and his speedy competitors were awaiting the starting gun for the men’s 100-meter final race yesterday. The runners were already crouched down in the “set” position — fortunately, the sound of the bottle landing didn’t cause anyone to false-start. The idiot who supposedly threw the bottle was pounced on by police and arrested, but not before receiving some Olympic-style justice. Dutch judo competitor Edith Bosch witnessed the incident and shared afterward on Twitter that she punched the tosser. [Source]
