'Ace of Cakes' baker promises lots of glitter for inauguration parties

1/21/2013

We hope the president likes things that sparkle. "Ace of Cakes" celebrity baker Duff Goldman is baking up cakes for inauguration celebrations today — including one that will be served at the Commander-in-Chief's Ball, which Obama will (obviously) attend. Goldman's cakes are typically over-the-top confections, and this one will have "clusters of stars shooting out like fireworks." The former TV star added: "Glitter is going to be all over the place." The 50-pound cake will have layers of red velvet, lemon poppy seed, pineapple coconut and pumpkin chocolate chip cake, as well as the presidential seal and the nation's Latin motto rendered in icing. Baltimore-based Goldman said he made sure to spellcheck "E pluribus Unum" before it went on the cake. [Source]
