Dwyane Wade gives $210,000 to Sandy relief after boneheaded tweet
11/3/2012Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade will donate his pay from last night’s game against the Knicks to hurricane relief, after an ill-worded tweet sparked fans’ anger. On Thursday Wade tweeted: “3 hour traffic just to get into the NY city…#C’monMan…” After a backlash, he deleted the message, adding: “2 be clear "Traffic tweet was meant 2 say"... We shouldn't B hre 2 play a basketball game when theirs so many families obviously still R affected by #Sandy”. We’re sure New York appreciates the $210,000 gift from a contrite Wade, but the city may prefer Wade’s other donation from the evening: helping the Heat lose by 20 points to the Knicks. [Source]
